Spoiled Dog Winery will be hosting a fun fundraiser for Whidbey AIR
Whidbey’s All-Internet Radio
KWPA, Whidbey’s only streaming public radio station features local programming streamed from Deception Pass to Clinton and all around the world.
Whidbey’s Spoiled Dog Winery is located at 5881 Maxwelton Road near Langley.
Ample free parking is available. A $15 donation per person is suggested.
Those attending will enjoy a relaxing afternoon of Whidbey wine, food and music. They will sample local wines from Spoiled Dog Winery and an array of finger foods from local ingredients prepared by Red Rooster Catering Chef Edward J. Gallo. Among the local food producers contributing to the event are Greenbank Farm, Willowood Farm, Tree-Top Baking and The Little Brown Farm. Live music will be performed during the event by Whidbey’s own Red Rooster Catering Chef Edward J. Gallo group.
KWPA’s All Things Whidbey event coincides with the seventh annual Whidbey Island Farm Tour, which takes place both Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15-16. Farm Tour visitors are invited to include an afternoon stop at the Spoiled Dog Winery while on their tour.
KWPA Whidbey AIR streams Whidbey-centric programming 24 hours a day from its web site at http://www.kwparadio.org. KWPA is also available to smart phone and tablet users through the iTunes web site. In recent months, the station has added dozens of hours of local programming by Whidbey artists and others.
“We are the voice of Whidbey Island to the world,” said Gwen Samelson, president of KWPA’s board. “The internet gives us the ability to stream our local programming to all those who love our island – no matter where they are.”
The station is currently in an urgent fundraising drive to keeps its internet stream going. KWPA, an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, needs at least $15,000 per year to pay for music licensing, studio rent, insurance, utilities and other basic costs. All donations to KWPA are tax deductible.
