North Whidbey Student Open Stage
May 10, 2013
The North Whidbey Student Open Stage is a North Whidbey Middle School PTA sponsored showcase of Oak Harbor School District student musical artists and groups. The evening will also include a small exhibition of “Rock Posters” in the style of the 1960’s Pop, Art Nouveau and Op Art related concert posters, based on the work of Stanley Mouse, Victor Moscoso and others of that decade in music; an aesthetic that is still appropriated by contemporary acts in their promotional posters.
150 SW 6th Avenue, Oak Harbor
5-8pm – Free Admission
The thing that makes this a unique opportunity for the students is that their performances will be recorded by Rick Littke, a local musician and sound engineer, who has generously agreed to donate his time and talent to this event, by providing them with a live “demo” of their act.
Equally as awesome, they will be aired by Mary Rose Anderson and Annie Zeller Horton on Isle of the Arts on Whidbey AIR, Whidbey’s community generated all internet radio! And a big thanks to Avi and Jake at Click music in Oak Harbor are providing the use of pre amp speakers, microphone, stands, drums and other equipment.
Hope to see you there!
